About the Swaziland Stock Exchange as a Regulatory Body
The Swaziland Stock Exchange (SSX) started operating in June 1990, after a consultation of the Minister for Finance with the Governor of the Central Bank of Swaziland. Trading is conducted using the call-over system under the supervision of the Capital Markets Development Unit of the Central Bank which regulates the operations of the exchange. The major objective of the exchange is to maintain orderly, fair transparent and efficient dealing in securities between organizations and shareholders. The SSX is vital for the operation of Nedbank because it provides a link between the bank and investors seeking investment opportunities for access funds. The SSX further monitors all dealings, ensuring that they take place in a fair environment for all stakeholders.
