The whole Nedbank Swaziland family is beating the drum for the champions who were decorated with awards at the annual Tihlabani Awards event held at the end of February 2016.
Characterised by bursts of laughter, chit-chatting, cracking of heartfelt jokes, applause and whistles, the event really embodied the spirit of unity for those in attendance. The excitement was pulpable and written all over the faces of those who received the awards.
Mbabane Corporate Place branch seemed to dominate the award ceremony as most of the branch staff received the much-coveted awards.
“To the winners - these awards mean that you have got a winner’s attitude and of course, you are winners! You must take pride in knowing and recognising that a few people have your vision. Thank you for showing others an alternate perspective of how we Make Things Happen at Nedbank,” Managing Director Ms. Fikile Nkosi said when congratulating the Tihlabani.
Recounting the tough and challenging times the bank has gone through in recent years, as well as with the introduction of the new banking system, Nkosi applauded the winners for their “whatever it takes attitude” when executing their duties.
She said, “I know it is tough and challenging. However, it is in times like these that we need people of true character, people who will show their ‘Tihlabani’ attitude through working beyond the call of duty and inspiring others along the way.”
The MD further encouraged all Nedbankers to celebrate one another on a daily basis through ‘respect and being people-centred’.
To those who did not receive awards on the day, Nkosi cautioned them against losing heart.
“Not getting any award today does not mean you are not making positive input to the Nedbank brand. It merely means you have to work harder, push harder and focus harder,” she said.
When handing over the awards, Nkosi went into detail about how each awardee was selected and also detailed their special attributes that have contributed to the success of the Nedbank brand.
