Nkonzo Hlatshwayo - Board Chairperson
Qualifications:
- Master of Law (LLM) – University of Swaziland
- Bachelor of Law (LLB) – University of Swaziland
- Bachelor of Arts in Law – University of Swaziland
Lovells South Africa Inc. Attorneys. He has vast and considerable experience in competition law/anti-trust spanning almost 20 years. Not only has he practiced competition law, but he has also acquired extensive experience as a regulator, having worked for the South African Competition Commission as well as the Eswatini Competition Commission. For a number of years, he served as a Partner and specialist Competition Law Adviser at Webber Wentzel Attorneys in South Africa. Hlatshwayo advises clients on South African competition law as well as several other African jurisdictions such as Botswana, Kenya, Malawi, Mauritius, Tanzania, Eswatini, Zambia and Zimbabwe. He represents parties in merger proceedings, intervention applications, compliant proceedings, leniency applications and cross border proceedings. Other areas of specialist competence include competition law adjudication, competition law investigations, managing competition law institutions and corporate governance. Hlatshwayo represented Business Unity South Africa (BUSA) in negotiating the Competition Amendment Act of 2009 and also drafted Regulations for the Eswatini Competition Act, 2007.
