Mpendulo Shongwe is an experienced legal and governance executive with over a decade of expertise in corporate law, regulatory compliance, risk management, and corporate governance. As Head of Legal and Company Secretary at Nedbank Eswatini, he provides strategic oversight of the bank’s legal affairs, board governance, litigation management, and regulatory compliance, ensuring adherence to statutory, regulatory, and stock exchange requirements.
His career includes senior leadership roles across the financial services, insurance, and corporate sectors, including Governance, Risk and Compliance Officer at the Royal Eswatini Sugar Corporation, Head of Compliance and Money Laundering Control at Nedbank Eswatini, and Legal Officer: Compliance at Eswatini Royal Insurance Corporation.
Recognised for his strong governance expertise and sound legal judgment, he has extensive experience in managing regulatory risk, strengthening compliance frameworks, and supporting effective corporate governance within complex and highly regulated environments.
